Metaobjects

Options for exporting Metaobjects with Duplify

Metaobjects are used to store and add extra structured information for your store. They consist of groups of related metafields, making it simpler to manage complex data. This is particularly useful for storing details about products or custom fields that aren't covered in standard Shopify categories.

Duplify will export all the Metaobject definitions created in your source store with this option. Values can also be exported when selected under each export category.

  • Other export options in Duplify allow the values stored in these Metaobjects to be exported. This export is focused on the definitions.

Metaobjects are found under the Content section in the main Shopify Admin:

Definitions and values

Metaobjects can hold a group of data like a collection of metafields. The definitions are the containers of information. Values and information are then populated within the Metaobject definition.

  • Duplify will export the Metaobject definition, which includes the primary container information. To include associated data, select the Metaobjects option in other export categories such as products, collections, customers, orders, and blog posts.

Export Events

Duplify determines the size of your source store's export by tracking export events, each representing one data item or file.

Your selected plan provides a specific number of monthly export events. Each plan offers a generous amount of points for export events. See pricing and plans for more details.

Be sure to check out our detailed reference guide for a complete list of all export events.
